The first steps after arrival.

Arrival day doesn't end the migration — it starts it. Registering your residence (Meldezettel) in the first week, opening an Austrian bank account, a local SIM and health coverage; the things nothing else works without.

In MazGroup's settlement package these are arranged in advance — so your first week is only about arriving and breathing.

Your first week in Austria, in this order:

  • Residence registration (Meldezettel) — the base of all admin and banking
  • Opening an Austrian bank account with passport and proof of address
  • A local SIM and a check of your health insurance coverage
  • For families: school registration and the right neighbourhood
